Ohio Liquor Updates

Exatouch continues to implement updates to support Ohio liquor merchants with a host of insightful, practical features which give Ohio merchants a competitive edge in the liquor industry!

Get All Price Automation

Exatouch has automated the task of checking for price updates with the “Get all prices time” function.

  • “Get all prices” function is located on the “LMP” tab within Account Settings.
  • This function is set to check for price updates at 5:00 am daily, ensuring that merchants stay updated with state pricing at all times! The 5:00 am update time was selected to coordinate with system maintenance times which commonly take place nightly between 11:30 pm and 4:30 am.
  • Merchants can change the 5:00 am default time if they wish.
  • Through automation of the Get All Price function, merchants do not have to worry about remembering to pull prices down.


LMP Flag for Categories of Items

Merchants have the ability to assign LMP designation to any category within their system.  Doing so serves multiple purposes:

  • Prevents merchants from adding new items manually without an item code.
  • Reports any items that have a missing item code.
  • Allows definition of Default Category for new items when introduced during “Get All Price” functions.

The LMP flag is located in the categories section within the Items module. Here is where you can assign one or more categories with the LMP designation:


Default Category for LMP Merchants

Exatouch gives LMP Merchants the ability to be selective about adding newly imported items into their system.  New items are imported into a catch-all default category, and can then be moved to a different location according to merchant preference.

  • A “Default Category: Ohio Liquor” was implemented as a catch-all category for new items imported when Exatouch runs “Get all prices”.
  • “Ohio Liquor” is set as the”Default Category” for newly imported items.  An alternate category can be chosen in the “Default Category” drop-down; only one category can be the default.
  • Merchants can review newly imported items in the default category and select only the items they stock into their existing category/subcategory structure.
  • This feature ensures that the merchant interface remains uncluttered with unnecessary items, thus maintaining operational speed at the register.


Auto Alert to the LMP Help Desk

Auto alerts have been implemented to alert the state when a merchant/liquor agency fails to submit daily sales reports such as “Master Service Sales” report or “Master End of Day” report.


Alert CC email

Merchants have the option to be copied on submission alerts, giving them a head’s up that they received a submission failure.

  • Alert settings are located within Account Settings on the “LMP” tab.
  • Merchants can troubleshoot submission issues and contact LMP Help Desk in a more timely manner.
  • Multiple emails can be entered into the “email” field by separating each email address with a comma or semicolon.


Default Per Unit Tax Field

The “Default per unit tax” field saves time for Cuyahoga County liquor merchants by automating the application of sin tax for every new item imported via the “Get all prices” function.

  • This feature is located in Account Settings, on the “LMP” tab.
  • “Default per unit tax” features a drop-down of choices which reference tax settings.
    • Tax settings are located in the Items module.
    • This is how a Cuyahoga merchant may set up Per Unit Taxes in tax settings:
  • When “Default per unit tax” is activated, Exatouch automatically applies the tax, calculates ratios, and sets tax type for imported items.
  • This field is blank by default; non-Cuyahoga County merchants leave this field blank.
