Process Customer Payouts

Customer Payouts are processed via the Pay tab or directly at the Register via Quick Payout buttons.

Customer Payouts via Pay Tab

Payouts can be processed on the Register’s Pay tab.

  1. From the Register, tap the Pay tab.
  2. Select Payout.
  3. An Admin or Power User’s PIN may be required. If so, enter the PIN.
    • Note: Employee restrictions on payouts can be modified so that a PIN is not required. See: Customer Payout Restrictions 
  4. Choose a payout type.
    • Tip! Some merchants will not have payout types defined and their list will be blank. As an alternative to selecting a payout type, a custom label can be entered in the Label field. Custom “payout type” labels will show up on relevant reports. To define payout types, see:  Setup Quick Payout
  5. Press OK.
  6. Choose from predefined payout amounts, or type in a payout amount.
  7. Press OK.
  8. Hit Pay and continue with the customer’s payment.

Customer Payouts via Quick Payout

Payouts can be processed directly at the register by selecting a Quick Payout button. Quick Payout buttons are the most direct way to process a payout because they feature a specific payout type, such as “Lotto” and “Money Order”.

  • Note: Payout types are defined as custom variables; Quick Payout buttons are added to the register via custom buttons. See: Setup Quick Payout

  1. Navigate to the Register.
  2. Review the register’s payout options.  Payout options at the register may include a “Customer payout” button or specific payout types such as “Lotto” “Scratch-Off” or “Money Order”.
  3. Select a payout option (i.e. “Lotto”).
  4. An Admin or Power User’s PIN may be required. If so, enter the PIN.
    • Note: Employee restrictions on payouts can be modified so that a PIN is not required. See: Customer Payout Restrictions
  5. Choose from predefined payout amounts, or type in a payout amount.
  6. Press OK.
  7. A banner alert will appear confirming the payout.
  8. Proceed with the rest of the customer’s transaction. Payout transactions will appear on the Pay tab.
