The Delivery Manager is a simple, convenient way to manage delivery orders. View order status, customer details, and driver information on the delivery screen. Pizzerias and businesses who offer delivery services benefit from real-time delivery tracking, expedited service, and enhanced overall customer experience.
Use of the Delivery Manager begins after an order is placed at the Register.
- When placing an order for delivery, select Delivery as the Order Type. See: Select Order Type
- Customers can pay with credit card when the order is placed, or with cash when the order is delivered.
- Orders are sent to the remote kitchen printer when Save Order is pressed.
- Saved delivery orders display in the Delivery Manager where they are tracked and managed.
- Tip! The Delivery Manager can also be used for orders delivered by GrubHub, UberEATS, or other 3rd party delivery services.
Delivery orders are placed at the Register.
- Select Delivery as the order type.
- Perform one of the following:
- Tap Search to attach an existing customer to the order.
- Enter a phone number and tap Add Customer to create a new customer to attach to the order.
- After attaching a customer, confirm the customer’s name, address and contact information and tap OK.
- Tip! Enter any special instructions, if desired, in the blank field below the customer’s address.
- Create an order.
- Tap Send Order to send the order to the remote kitchen printer.
- The order now displays in the Delivery Manager.
Delivery orders that have been placed display in the Delivery Manager.
- Open the Delivery Manager by tapping the Global Menu at the bottom right of most Exatouch screens.
- Note: Since Delivery Manager can be placed as a custom button, Delivery Manager may be found at a different location on your register.
- Tap Delivery Manager.
- View pending orders in the Delivery Manager queue.
- When a new order is placed, the order’s Status displays as New in the Delivery Manager.
- Last Activity: Tracks the amount of time since the order was placed.
Staff assigns “ready” status once the order is out of the kitchen, boxed for transport, and ready for delivery.
- Re-enter the Delivery Manager.
- Select an order.
- Tap the Ready button.
- The Status changes from New to Ready, meaning it’s ready for delivery.
- Last Activity: The time clock is reset to 0 when “Ready “status is assigned. Tracks the amount of time since the order was boxed and designated as Ready for Delivery.
The delivery coordinator checks the dashboard for orders with an R (Ready) status. When the order is picked up for delivery, the driver/coordinator selects a driver and marks the order Out.
- From the Delivery section, select an available driver or tap All Staff to assign a staff member as a driver.
- View orders with a Ready status.
- When an order is picked up, select the order and tap Out.
- The Status changes from Ready to Out. The order receipt prints and is handed to the driver.
- Tip! Delivery receipts are printed with a QR code for scanning so you can pull up the delivery address in Google Maps directly from a mobile device.
- The time clock in the Last Activity field resets to 0.
- Tip! Note the “Last Activity” time when the order was taken out for delivery; This will be valuable information for customers who call inquiring about the status of their order.
The driver delivers the order and returns to the restaurant.
- For customers paying with credit card:
- Credit card payments were initiated when the order was placed. When driver returns to the restaurant, tip is declared and payment is completed by pressing Tab Auth. When Tab Auth is selected, the order will automatically be marked D (Delivered.)
- For customers paying with cash tender:
- Note: Cash payments and cash tips are recorded outside of the Delivery Manager; cash payments and tips are recorded at the register during the Complete Auth process at the end of a shift. See:Â Accept Payment from the Register Screen
- Tap Delivered.
- The Status changes from Out to Cmpl (Completed).
- Last Activity: When an order is marked Cmpl, the time clock displays the total amount of time it took to fulfill the customer’s order. Total time displayed is the sum of timed statuses New, Ready, Out, and Cmpl.
Reset the status of a delivery order by selecting Reset Order Status.
- Select an order to reset, and then tap Reset Order Status.
- The Status changes from Cmpl to New.
Both the Delivery Report and the Delivery Status Report provide valuable insight into the delivery process.
- Delivery Report: The Delivery Report provides a snapshot of current order statuses and customer and financial information relevant to those orders. This report can also be run from the Sales Reports section. See: Delivery Report
