Item Level Promos are promotions applied to a single item. Promos can be run during specific hours during the day, for a specific time period.
Promo Examples
- Liquor Store offers BOGO on Bud Light: Buy one 18-pack of Bud Light, get a second pack at 50% off.
- Spa offers a Mother’s Day Special: 25% off the purchase of a 50 minute Swedish Massage for mom.
- Bakery advertises a Holiday Sale: Purchase a Pumpkin Pie for the discounted price of $6.99/pie (regular price $10.99/pie).
- From Home, tap Items.
- Select Items List.
- Select an item. Scroll or use search options to find an item. See: Find an Item.
- Confirm that the correct item is featured, and select the Promo tab.
- Enable On sale.
- Fill in the Buy field.
- Select a Promo option from the drop-down menu.Â
- Get one free
- Get one half price
- Get one for percentage off
- For dollar amount
- For percentage off
- For dollar amount off
- Check each relevant day of the week.
- Fill in Start and End date, Daily time Start and End times. These fields are optional.
- Tap Save.
- Buy: Specify the number of items that need to be purchased to activate the promo. This is a required field.
- Promo options:
- Get one free: The purchase of at least two items is required to activate this promo.
- Get one half price: The purchase of two items is required to activate this promo.
- Get one for percentage off: In addition t the Get item(s), this promo is applied to the single item purchased.
- For dollar amount: Buy one/more items at the specified price. The purchase of only one item is required to activate this promo. Promo is applied to the single item purchased. If several of the featured items are purchased, the promo price applies to all items.
- For percentage off: Buy one/more items for a percentage off the original purchase price. The purchase of only one item is required to activate this promo.
- For dollar amount off: Buy one/more items for a dollar amount off.
- Start date and End date: Specify the start and end date for the promo. Optional fields.
- Daily time start and End: Promos can be active at specific times during the day. These fields are optional.
- Sun through Sat: Check off all days that apply. One day must be selected to activate the promo.

- BOGO on Bud Light: Buy one 18-pack Bud Light get one 50% off. Sale runs each Friday in the month of July.
- 25% off the purchase of a 50-min Swedish Massage. Sale runs for the two weeks before Mothers day.
- Buy 1 Pumpkin Pie for the discounted price of $6.99/pie (regular price $10.99/pie). Sale valid the 2nd and 3rd week of November.
Check your work by ringing up Promo Items at the register.
- Promo discount amount can be viewed above the order Total.
- Promo discounts are displayed at the register by default. This setting can be modified in Register Preferences. See:Â Manage Promo Preferences
- Note: Promos with a set end date and/or time will expire automatically. Nevertheless, promos can be deactivated at any time. See:Â Deactivate Discounts and Promos
- Bulk Promos can be created for a group of items, which is a huge time saver over creating an individual promo and applying it to many items! This is accomplished by using the “Modify all list items” function.
- From Home tap Items.
- Tap Items List.Â
- Use “Search” or “Advanced item search” to gather a group of items together.
- View the list of items, scrolling through the entire list to confirm that all items listed are intended.
- Tap Modify all list items.Â
- Choose the Promo tab
- Create a promo. Any promo created within “Modify all list items” will apply to the entire list of items.

- Bulk Promos can be created for a group of services, which is a huge time saver over creating an individual promo and applying it to many services! This is accomplished by pulling together a group of service items, and using the “Modify all list services” function.
- From Home,tap Items.
- Choose Service List.Â
- Use “Search” or “Advanced services search” to gather a group of services together.Â
- View the list of services, scrolling through the entire list to confirm that all the services are intended.
- Select Modify all list services.Â
- Tap the Promo tab.
- Create a promo. Any promo created within “Modify all list services” will apply to the entire list of services.

Restaurants and bars use Promo Layers to create Happy Hour Specials. Additional times and prices can be layered onto promos. Up to 3 promo layers can be applied: Promo 2, Promo 3, and Promo 4 options.
- Example: Happy Hour specials on pitchers of beer include:
For Bud Light:Â $5 pitchers between 5pm – 6pm (Promo 2), $6 pitchers between 6pm -7pm (Promo 3), $8 pitchers between 7pm – 8pm (Promo 4)
For Yuengling:Â $7 pitchers between 5pm – 6pm (Promo 2), $8 pitchers between 6pm – 7pm (Promo 3), $9 pitchers between 7pm – 8pm (Promo 4)
