PIN Timeout and Quick Lock are modified in Settings > Preferences on the Security tab.
- From Home, navigate to Settings > Preferences.
- Tap the Security tab.
- View security settings:
PIN Timeout is the amount of time before the system times out, requiring a PIN to log back in. A full minute is required before a timeout occurs. For example, if usage ceases at 10:31:15, the system will lock at 10:33 requiring a PIN to get back in.
- Note: PIN timeout default setting is 1 minute. Changes to PIN timeout setting override the 1-minute default.
- Enable the PIN Timeout and enter a value (in minutes). Then tap Save.
Quick lock indicates that the system will lock after Save/Send is executed or after payment is made on an order. PIN timeout is enabled only when the PIN timeout checkbox is selected. Once the checkbox is selected, the default setting can remain, or a custom time can be entered.
- Note: The default Quick Lock setting is 10 seconds. Changes to PIN timeout setting override the 10-second default.
- Enable Quick Lock and enter a value (in seconds). Then tap Save.
