Restaurant employees can quickly and accurately send orders to remote printers with the Send Order button, found on the Register app.
Depending on printer settings, tapping Send Order sends orders to remote kitchen and/or receipt printers. When enabled, Send Order takes the place of Save Order.
To enable the Send Order button, print settings must be configured on the Printer Settings screen.
- From Home, navigate to Settings > Print Settings.
- Tap the Receipt Options tab.
- Select the Print Order On Save checkbox. When enabled, orders send to the receipt printer and a customer ticket is generated.
- Tap Save, then when the Settings screen displays, tap Print Settings again.
- Tap the Remote Options tab.
- Select the Print On Save checkbox. When enabled, orders send to the kitchen printer and a kitchen ticket is generated.
- Tip! Select the Course Firing checkbox to enable course firing, which allows restaurants to prepare and present multi-course meals. Disable Course Firing to print all courses to the remote kitchen printer at once. See: Set Up Course Firing Printer Preferences.
- Tap Save.
- Check Your Work: Verify the Save Order button now displays as Send Order on the Register app.
- From Home, navigate to Items > Categories.
- On the Categories screen, select an item category from the list.
- In the Print On section, select the desired remote printer, then tap Save.
On the Register app, the Send Order and Printer Remote buttons perform many of the same functions, though they have some important differences. The Print Remote button always saves orders and sends them to remote printers, regardless of settings, while the behavior of Send Order depends on printer settings.
