The Allow Price Override preference enables merchants to allow all users, regardless of access level, to change the price of a specific item or items at the Register.
Price changes at the register generally require an Admin or Power User PIN. See:Â Price Override at the Register
This can be changed on an item-level by enabling the Allow Price Override option under the Item Details module.
- When Allow Price Override is enabled, overrides can be executed by anyone regardless of their access level.
- When Allow Price Override is disabled, a Power User or Admin PIN is required to change an item’s price. This assumes that access controls are turned on.
The “Allow Price Override” feature is an item-level preference; it is enabled for an individual item within Item Details.
- From Home, navigate to Items > Item Details.
- Verify the correct item displays. If not, tap All Items to search for the correct item. See: Find an Item
- Under the Pricing tab, enable the Allow Price Override slider.
- Tap Save.
The Override Price setting can be enabled or disabled for multiple items at once by using the Modify All List Items feature.
- From Home, navigate to Items > Item List.
- Use the Search field or tap Advanced Item Search to gather a group of items together.
- Review the item list to confirm that all the items listed are intended.
- Tap Modify All List Items.
- Enable the Override Price slider.
- Tap OK.
- You will be prompted twice to confirm if you wish to modify all list items. Press Yes to confirm.
- When prompted, enter your Admin or Power User PIN. Entering your PIN will finalize changes.
- Changes display within each item’s record.
- See: Modify Bulk Items
