Manage Inventory With Parent-Child Items

1. From Home, navigate to Items > Item List.
2. Select a child item from the list (e.g., a bottle of beer or a pack of cigarettes). The Item Details screen displays, with the child item’s details populating the relevant fields.
3. Tap the Inventory Options tab, then select the blank item field.
4. From the Item List, select a parent item (e.g., a case of beer or a carton of cigarettes).
5. Once the parent item details display, perform the following:
   
   
   1. In the Ratio field, enter the number of child items to draw from the parent item. For example, enter 12 to draw 12 Pepsi cans from one case.
   2. Optional: Enable the Order By slider to automatically reorder more parent items when attempting to reorder child items.
6. Tap Save.
• Tip! Enable the Automatically Move Parent to Child? setting to automatically draw from a parent item when the child item quantity falls below zero.

Creating purchase orders for parent items is a handy feature that not only saves time, but also simplifies inventory management and saves money by buying items in bulk.

1. From Home, navigate to Purchasing > PO Details.
2. On the PO Details screen, tap the search icon next to the Vendor field.
3. Select a vendor.
4. Select a parent item to reorder.
5. In the pop-up, enter the amount of parent items to reorder in the Qty field.
6. Tap OK, then tap Close.
7. Verify the Quantity (Qty) of the parent item that displays, then tap Send.
