Promos can be applied to a group of items related by subcategory. Subcategory Level Promos can be run during specific hours during the day, for a specific time period.
- Liquor Store offers New Years Special: 10% off all Champagne selections. Promotion runs the last week in December.
- A spa offers Deep Conditioning Wednesdays: Buy two Moroccan Oil Treatments, get 1 free. Promo valid each Wednesday in February.
- Restaurant offers TGIF special on their Famous Fries: Purchase any type of fries for $2.00 on Fridays between 4pm – 9pm.
- From Home, tap Items.
- Choose Categories.
- Click to select a category from the Categories section.
- Click to select a subcategory.
- Tip! If a category or subcategory do not yet exist in your system, add a new category/subcategory and populate it with related items. See:Â Create Categories and Subcategories
- Select Promo.
- Check the On sale checkbox.
- Fill in the Buy field, and select one of the Get fields. Fill in the chosen Get field as needed.
- Check each relevant day of the week.
- Fill in these optional fields as needed: Start and End date, Daily time start and End times.
- Click OK to save and close the Promo window.
- Click Save.
- Buy: Specify the number of item units that need to be purchased for the Promo to apply. This is a required field.
- Get options: Selecting one of the Get options is required.
- Get – One free: Check this box to activate “buy one get one free”. The purchase of two items is required to activate this promo selection.
- Get – One half price:Â Check this to activate “buy one get one 1/2 price”. The purchase of two items is required to activate this promo selection.
- Get – One for: % off: Buy one at a percentage off. Promo is applied to the single item purchased.
- Get – One for $: Buy one item at the specified price. The purchase of only one item is required to activate this promo. If several of the featured items are purchased, the promo price is applied to all items.
- Get – For: % off: Buy one item for a percentage off the original purchase price. The purchase of only one item is required to activate this promo.
- Start date and End date: Specify the start and end date for the promo. Optional field.
- Daily time start and End: Promos can be active during specific times during the day, as indicated in these fields. Optional field.
- Sun through Sat: Check off all days that apply. Selection of at least one day of the week is required to activate a Promo.

Check your work by ringing up Promo Items at the register.
- Items with promos applied are featured in GREEN at the register. Regular price items are featured in BLACK.
- Promo discount amount can be viewed above the order Total.
- Promo discounts are displayed at the register by default. This setting can be modified in Register Preferences. See:Â Manage Promo Preferences
- Note: Promos with a set end date and/or time will expire automatically. Nevertheless, promos can be deactivated at any time. See: Deactivate Discounts and Promos
