Incentivize customers to pay with cash by offering a cash discount! Retailers, restaurants, and other businesses can automatically apply a cash discount as a percentage discount to a customer’s total purchase.
- Update: Customer Service Fee is now Checkout Fee. This change complies with major card brand requirements.
- Note: Many convenience stores prefer their customers to pay with cash and, thus, offer a discount. With cash discounting enabled in Exatouch, cash discounts are applied automatically via the register at the point of purchase. Discount messages can be displayed on customer receipts as further incentive for customers to save money and keep coming back!
Enable cash discounts in Settings. Then, activate cash discounts for categories & subcategories of items, groups of items, and/or individual items.
Cash discounting is enabled by Admin Users.
- From Home, tap Settings.
- Choose Account.
- Confirm that Cash Discount tab is selected.
- Enable Cash Discount.
- Enter a Cash Discount amount. Cash discounts are always a percent discount.
- Choose Cash payment receipt message and type a message to display on cash-paying customer receipts. This receipt message is optional.
- Choose Non-Cash payment receipt message and type a message to display on receipts for customers paying with non-cash tender. This receipt message is optional.
- Tip! Use variables in receipt messages to customize receipts. The variable {%disc} in a receipt message will display the percent discount applied. For example, for a 10% discount, the message: “A {%disc} cash discount has been applied” will appear as “A 10% cash discount has been applied”. Similarly, “You have saved {$disc} by paying with cash” will display the customer’s total dollar savings. If a customer saved $15, the message “You have saved {$disc} by paying with cash” will read: “You have saved $15 by paying with cash.”
