Exatouch easily generates RJ Reynolds reports, automatically formatting the product and sales information and transmitting to Scan Data via FTP.
Exatouch easily generates the Scan Data reports required by RJ Reynolds, automatically formatting the information according to Scan Data’s specifications. The information can be uploaded via Circana FTP.
- Note:
The process for setting up Scan Data for RJ Reynolds has changed as of 12/31/24; the new process is documented below. All merchants participating in the Scan Data program will be contacted directly by Circana, the new data processor.
- Existing merchants: If you are already set up for Scan Data using MSA, that information will still be transmitted during the interim period after 12/31/24. However, you should set up your FTP via Circana as soon as possible. If you have NOT received welcome and setup information from Circana, please contact Exatouch Tech Support for assistance.
- New merchants: After 12/31/24, you must set up the Scan Data account via Circana. Do not fill in the MSA Information fields, as the data will not be transmitted.
- All merchants: Contact Exatouch Technical Support for assistance with data validation and test files during the account setup process. Those steps are noted in red below. Merchants do not have admin access to all of the Circana FTP fields.
Two emails from Circana will provide the information needed for account setup:
Circana Welcome Email
The welcome email will come from BATRSDHelpDesk@circana.com, and the subject line will be “Welcome Information-Case [number] – RMSC RSD Enrollment”.
Retailer Name: [Provided by Circana]

Circana will provide the Submitter ID and Retailer Name in the following format:
This email will also have welcome and getting started documents, including RMSC Reporting Example File (.xlsx), Circana Retail Scan Data Program Welcome (.pdf), Getting Started-How to Drop Files (.pdf), and Advanced Attribute Technical Guide for IT and 3rd Party Providers (.pdf).
Circana FTP Logon Information Email
The login information email will come from the sender BATRSD.AccountSetup@circana.com and the subject line will be “Your RSDP account has been set up – [account number]”.

Server: rdsp.circana.com (host name should auto-populate)
Port Number: 22 (port number should auto-populate)
Remote Path: Exatouch Technical Support must configure the Remote Path, first with
Onboarding_Validation during the validation/test file submission phase, then to Production after Circana has confirmed successful transmission of the test file (see information below).

Note: If you are expecting emails from Circana but have not received them, please check your spam folder.

- Go to Home > Settings > Account.
- Tap the RJ Reynolds Scan Data tab.
- Enter the information provided in the Circana welcome and FTP emails. The Server and Port Number fields should auto-populate.
- CONTACT THE TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAM to configure the Remote Path field with Onboarding_Validation.
- Tap Save.
Item Requirements must be configured correctly for every Scan data item in order for reports to process. Note: Items may be configured before Scan Data account creation.
- Go to Home > Items > Items List.
- Search for the desired item on the Items List page.
- Tip! Enter a keyword, such as “Newport” or “tobacco” in the Search field to narrow the search.
- Select the item. The Item Details screen displays.
- Select the Pricing tab, then enter pack data in the Pack Size fields. Note: RJ Reynolds provides the pack data entered into these fields. Contact your Scan Data representative with any questions.
- Under the Inventory tab, select the Manufacturer from the dropdown menu. Tap the gear icon to add a new line.
- Tap the Details tab.
- Enable the RJ Reynolds Scan Data slider for Newport, Camel, and other RJ Reynolds products.
- Tap Save.
- Important: Merchants will need the assistance of the Technical Support Team during this process.
- Go to Home > Utilities > Scan Data.
- In the popup that displays, select RJ Reynolds.
- Enter a date range for the desired time period.
- Select the RJR Test File checkbox to send a test file.
- Tap Transmit to RJ Reynolds to transmit files to RJ Reynolds via the Circana FTP server.
- After receiving an email from Circana confirming that the test file was successfully submitted (it will take approximately two weeks), CONTACT THE TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAM to reconfigure the Remote Path field with Production.
- Tap Save.
Multi-pack discounts allow merchants to offer discounts on RJ Reynolds products when customers buy a certain quantity of an item. For example, when a customer buys two packs of cigarettes, the merchant may include a third pack for free.
Note: Exatouch merchants must send a test file to Scan Data to ensure all requirements have been met before discounting or setting up promos for RJ Reynolds products.
Discounts can be configured on the Item Promos page. Promos can also be configured at the Item or Category level.
- From Home, navigate to Items > Promos.
- Select the Mix & Match tab.
- Tap New.
- Enter a promo name in the Promotion: </field.
- Verify the On Sale
- Configure the following, as desired:
- Buy: Enter the quantity a customer must purchase to qualify for the promo.
- Promo: Select the promotion type from the dropdown. Enter the discount percentage in the Percentage field if selecting a percentage-based Promo. Enter the discount dollar amount in the Dollar Amount field if selecting a dollar amount-based Promo.
- Max Per Trx: Enter the maximum amount of the item a customer can buy per transaction (i.e., a merchant may limit quantities sold to prevent the item from selling out too quickly).
- Start Date: Select a date for when the promotion begins.
- End: Select a date for when the promotion ends.
- Daily Time Start: Select the time the promotion starts.
- End: Select the time the promotion ends. Choose specific dates for the discount by selecting the appropriate checkboxes. Default: All.
- Tap Save.
